FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is the difference between a personal chef and a private chef?
A private chef is hired by one individual or family and cooks for them daily. They usually live in the home. A personal chef works with numerous clients providing daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly customized meals.

2. Where is the food prepared?
I will be cooking in your kitchen. This way you will know exactly where the food came from and where it was prepared. This is a safety precaution set forth by the FDA.

3. Since you'll be in my home, what do you need from me?
All I will need from you is a little counter space and working appliances. If you have a burner on the stove out, don't sweat it, I can work with that. At our assessment I'll take a look at your kitchen and let you know what I will need on the cook date. We will discuss how much refrigerator space will be needed and where my counter space will be designated. Sometimes I may ask to use your small appliances, such as a blender, but for the most part I bring all my own equipment to the cook date.

4. How long are you going to be in my home and do I need to be there?
On average, I will be cooking in your home for 4-6 hours, depending on the meals I'm preparing. I understand that everybody has different schedules and I'm willing to work with you to find a convenient time. It is not necessary for you to be home on the cook date, but if you are more comfortable being home, thats perfectly fine. If you choose not to be home all I will need is entry and exit instructions. If you have children, pets, or help that are home during the day thats fine too. However, I will ask that the pets and children not be around the kitchen while I'm cooking for their safety.

5. Do I have to heat the food?
Yes. The majority of the dishes I will prepare will need to be heated. I will leave detailed heating instructions attached to each dish for your convenience.

6. What do you store the food in?
You have a few options, which we will discuss at the consultation. In most cases I will use dishwasher safe tupperware or pyrex dishes.

7. What type of food will you be making, who chooses the meals?
I make a variety of food. So, after our assessment I will put together a menu specifically built around your needs, likes, and dislikes. Before the cook date you will have a chance to review the menu. At that time, if you see something that doesn't sound good to you, you can let me know and I will make the changes.

8. Is there any commitment or contract I need to sign?
No, I do not require a contract and you can cancel your service at any time. However, when the first cook date is scheduled, I will ask for $100 deposit towards groceries and shopping time. The remaining balance is due on the cook date.

9. Can I give Hungry for Time as a gift?
Yes. Its always a great gift when you can pamper your friends and family. You can choose to pamper them for a special night or on going services.

10. When and how do I pay you?
At the end of our assessment when you decide you can't go another day without a personal chef. I will ask for a food deposit of $100.00. The balance will be due at the end of the cookdate. You may pay by check or cash.
